How come the bmw e36 compact isn’t a drivable car in horizon 4? I see them driving about in the game world all the time as NPC cars and I always wish I could own one in game.

Forza Horizon 4: The Lack of a Class

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 11:41 PM PDT

Over the past few months, Playground Games has been gifting us fan favorite vehicles such as the Performante, 600LT, and Pista. However, these cars are already outclassed in S1 and S2.

For S1, the car is too heavy and too underpowered. The Pista, for example already starts in S2. To bring the Pista into S1, you would need to downgrade the tires (which reduces grip) and add weight (AWD if it reduces PI and heavier wheels). Cars like the 2016 Viper ACR lack top speed in S1.

At the top of S2, the cars are simply too fast for their own good. The car can't handle the power it's putting down and can't corner as well as a Vulcan or Apollo.

The cars most likely need swaps to reach the top of S2 as the car's original engine cannot make enough horsepower to keep up with the Extreme Track Toys and Hypercars of S2.

If there were a class in between S1 and S2, it would preferably be around 901-950. I believe that's a good PI range.

    Cars in this area:

    • 2019 Ferrari 488 Pista

Trying to Figure out the Track Algorithm in Forza Motorsport 7

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 09:14 AM PDT

I'm a pretty frequent player of Forza 7, and I mainly stick to the endurance hopper as I like the challenge of the long races, and the quality of driver is usually really good. However, I've seen many people complain about which tracks always seem to make an appearance (VIR,) and some tracks that barely get brought up at all that we would like to see more (Silverstone, Brands Hatch.)

I decided to start logging which tracks come up for me when I race, and now that I've reached 200 races since logging, I've decided to share my google spreadsheet I made to track it.

    Notable Findings:

    1. Silverstone and Laguna Seca have never made an appearance, which begs the question: "Why aren't they a part of the endurance hopper?"
    2. The most popular tracks seem to be: VIR, Sebring, Monza, and Suzuka, with each one making up at least 5% on it's own, or combining all their track layouts. This isn't surprising, given that they each have some configurations, and are available in multiple weather conditions.
    3. I'm actually surprised with most of the variability. There does seem to be a pretty good mix outside of the most popular tracks, but I do think there needs to be a reorganizing of the algorithm to push more of the ones that don't come up as much, or quiet down the tracks that always come up.

Let me know what y'all think, or if you guys have questions!
