Little Street drift on the g920 wheel and shifter setup. Nothing special but I'm proud of my progress! Super super fun. PS, I usually use interior camera but for the sake of footage I prefer the rear view.

Tips on how to win in The Eliminator

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 04:24 AM PST

Since I saw in my last post that there's a few people saying they struggle to get a win, I decided to share some tips on how to get better and make Eliminator more fun.

This is the post I'm talking about where you can check my stats for the Eliminator

    https://www.reddit.com/r/forza/comments/erzvkn/mom_i_made_it_100_wins_in_the_eliminator/

Now for the step by step instructions:

    1. Pick one starting point with crowded car drops and stick to it

Car drops are placed at random, but the spots on the map where the drops can be placed are always exactly the same.

There's a few places on the map that have 3-4 or even more spots where the car drops usually are in just a few hundred meters away from each other.

The best way to take advantage of that is to pick one of those places and always teleport there at the start. You will almost always get out of there with a better car and after a while you will get to know that terrain so well that if someone challenges you, you will have a very good idea about the fastest and the safest route.

What's also good about this method is that you get the know the map around it so well that you will create a path for car drop search and not waste time wondering around aimlessly.

For example the spot I picked has 6 potential car drops in like a 500 meter radius, and after that I go along the same route that has 6 extra car drops in a total distance of around 1-2 kilometers so basically I have a 99% chance to get a good car in just a couple of minutes.

    2. Never challenge others right at the start

Unless you pick a level 4 car or better right at the start, don't waste time challenging others. You will have a much better shot at upgrading your car by just searching for the car drops instead of racing for a few minutes just to upgrade your level 2 car to a level 3, and you might lose anyways.

But if you get a level 4+ car immediately, you can feel comfortable challenging anyone since the odds of finding a level 5+ car drop is much smaller. And you should challenge someone as fast as you can since most of the players will still have a level 1 car.

    3. Challenge end points face the middle of the map

To be clear here, I'm not saying the end point will be at the middle of the map, but the direction of it will, so if you're at the edge of the circle, you will easily know where to face

    4. Don't challenge a car that goes at full speed while you're at a slow pace (unless - read 5.)

I've learned this the hard way. Many times what happened was I would challenge the guy and the route to get to was exactly where the other guy was heading giving him a huge advantage over me.

Another tip along those lines would be don't challenge a player that goes opposite of your direction, because of the same reasons as above.

What I suggest is if you spot your new victim, take some time to adjust yourself in a way so that wherever the end route is, he can't get a head start over you.

    5. Challenge the opponent every time you see him facing the end of the pink circle

The easiest way to get a win over someone is exactly this. When you see someone sprinting basically out of bounds, you can challenge him with any level car as long as you're facing the right direction.

By the time he turns around with his level 10 Pro Truck, you will already create a huge gap over him with your Mini Cooper.

So pay attention to the mini map.

    6. Try to avoid challenging players with a huge edge over you level car wise

Unless you see someone stuck, crash into a tree, rolling over or facing the wrong way as said in the 5th tip, don't challenge them. There's really no point in doing that because most of the time you will get eliminated.

Yea you might win now and then but it's just not worth risking it for that 1 in a 10 time thing.

    7. Getting ready for the final race

If you feel comfortable with your car for the final race and don't want to enter another challenge, don't drive around the map. Stop at the edge of the circle, face the middle of the map and just wait and be steady if someone comes along your way.

This way even if someone challenges you, he will have to come at you at an angle where you won't have a tough time beating him.

    8. Final race

Obviously you can't win them all because by the time the direction shows up there's a high chance somebody is already in front of you.

But what you can do to give yourself the highest chance of winning is to check the map, see where the route could possibly go, face that direction and start accelerating so by the time the countdown ends you're already at a max speed.

What will also give you a higher chance of winning is to always pick a direction that nobody else is facing. So check the map for the possible end points, check the mini map for the opponents, choose a direction where nobody else is and hope for the best. You won't always be right but this is the way I got most of my wins.

Be aware that the routes are never short so if you're close to the corner of the map, you can be sure that the end point of the final race won't be at that corner.

    Bonus tips

    Map Button

In the control settings you can bind one of your buttons for the map so you don't always have to press pause to enter it

    Cancelling an upgrade

I'm just gonna put this here as well as I'm pretty sure not everyone is aware of it.

You can cancel a car upgrade by pressing down on the D Pad instead of choosing left or right upgrade

    Takedown meter

This is an extra tip for the final race. The takedown meter is what fills when you enter out of bounds.

And it fills much faster when the head to head challenges are closed, it actually gets full after 4 seconds so what you wanna do is calculate your start so that by the time you enter out of bounds the countdown says "3". This way you will create the biggest gap possible and then it's all up to the game to award you with the direction that you're heading :)

I don't care what anyone says, Im glad the open top H1 returned after it's first and only debut in Horizon 1. I wish they would bring back more cars they removed over the years, especially the ones they got rid of just because a faster version/trim level was added.

Wish this car was in FH4. My goal is to buy a real one in the next couple years, or at least something as close as possible.

Forza and a bunch of other games always have the Cerbera speed 12. What about its homologated little brother, the Speed Six, for once?
