    How To Win The Eliminator! A Comprehensive Guide

    So I looked through all the tips for the Eliminator and didn't find them that great, so here is a comprehensive guide to winning the Eliminator. Having won with the Mini Cooper and a level 3 Lancia Delta, I've played a lot of games and here is my best advice:

    SPAWN

    The places I found most effective for car drops were:

    • The Broadway area which is the furthest south in the entire map (Best In My Opinion)
    • The Dirt Track and Stunt Area just north east of the ASTMOOR title
    • The Slate Quarry

    Other built up areas work, Edinburgh in the far north east didn't work for me but the fields around the golf course and the airstrip to Edinburgh's south west seemed to have lots of drops during mid to end-game.

    Generally, when you have a low level car, try to follow the roads to find car drops; rarely do you find houses in the middle of forests with drops on them.

    DROPS

    Obviously, never choose a drop worse than your current car.

    Personally, as good as the levels were, I tried to stay away from trucks (e.g. quite a few FORDs and most RAMs) due to top speed and width unless it was a massive upgrade e.g. from the Mini Cooper.

    My favourites from good car drops:

    • Level 5: Ford Focus
    • Level 6: Audi RS4 13
    • Level 7: Porsche 959 (useful for final if passive)
    • Level 8: Nissan GTR 12 / Ford Fiesta RS
    • Level 9: Lancia Delta S4 / Ferrari GTC4L
    • Level 10: Hoonigan Group A / Aventador 12

    STRATEGY

    KEEP OPENING YOUR MAP. Try to pick fights with people going away from the middle as that is generally where the finish for a head to head is. When starting in the middle, it could be anywhere.

    I always try to get a good drop first before picking a fight e.g. a Level 3 minimum.

    Remember people can challenge you from a good distance away so be careful against high level cars.

    You should ALWAYS TRY TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND NOT FOLLOW THE ROADS (unless your opponent is using the roads and you are beating them). Don't worry about crashing into walls when you only lose a small amount of speed. In residential areas, you should follow the roads as you can't drive through them in a straight line.

    PRACTICE DRIVING IN FORESTS. Within forests, there are thick and thin trees. You can plough through thin trees but you will crash when hitting thick trees. Try to picture all the big trees and plot a route through them ahead of time. Don't be afraid to slow down so you don't hit trees and don't lose speed as a result.

    SLOW DOWN SLIGHTLY OVER HILLS. Going at top speed over hills causes your car to flip or turn around in the air if you don't get lucky, so keep control and save time by slowing down.

    DON'T BE AFRAID TO HIDE. Staying still in the same area for a few seconds makes your marker invisible on the map to other players. They can challenge you if they see you, but hiding with a good level car until the final race isn't a bad idea.

    FINAL RACE

    Before the final race, look at your map. The more you play, the more you'll recognise patterns in the end zones. If you have no idea, if the current circle is in a far corner, THE FINISH IS LIKELY IN THE OPPOSITE CORNER. For example, if the current circle was in the bottom left, I would position myself at the top right of that circle preparing to drive north east. Remember this is a guess, so there is a good chance it will be wrong, but it is better to take a risk in this mode rather than play it safe to come second or third. ALWAYS COMMIT TO A CERTAIN DIRECTION AT THE START OR YOU WILL NEVER BEAT SOMEONE ELSE WHO WAS RIGHT.

    Also, before you start driving, LOOK FOR ANY LARGE VOLUMES OF WATER WHERE YOUR CAR WOULD SINK. Plan the quickest way to get to the roads that cross them or you'll be stuck and have no chance at winning.

    GET TO THE NEAREST ROAD THAT GOES IN THE IDEAL DIRECTION BEFORE THE MATCH STARTS. Then, make sure you are quite far back and at about 11 to 12 seconds before the final race starts, accelerate. This means you will be in the zone for a few seconds without being eliminated by it (depending on your timeout bar). It means you'll be at a high speed to start while everyone else has to spend time getting up to their top speed so you have an advantage right at the start. If you drive well with a good enough car, you should win!
